About the Role
We are looking for a Fire Sprinkler Design Technician with experience in fire protection, sprinkler drafting, or BIM modeling to support the development and coordination of sprinkler shop drawings.
You will model sprinkler systems, coordinate layouts with other building trades, work with Reflected Ceiling Plans (RCPs), and help prepare systems for efficient field installation and prefabrication.
This role requires previous fire sprinkler or fire protection experience. You do not need to know every part of our workflow on day one, but you should already understand sprinkler systems and be comfortable reading construction plans.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and detail fire sprinkler shop drawings
Model complete sprinkler systems, including piping, heads, and related components
Coordinate sprinkler head placement with architectural Reflected Ceiling Plans (RCPs)
Coordinate sprinkler systems with mechanical, plumbing, structural, electrical, and architectural systems
Use HydroCAD to support system modeling and prefabrication
Perform clash detection and coordination using Navisworks
Apply applicable NFPA codes and standards to sprinkler designs
Create and update sleeves for sprinkler piping
Incorporate engineer comments, design revisions, and updated architectural/structural backgrounds
Review work for accuracy before submission
Assist with hydraulic calculations when qualified
Work closely with Project Managers and other trades to resolve coordination issues
What We're Looking For
Previous fire sprinkler design, drafting, BIM, or fire protection experience
Ability to read and interpret sprinkler, architectural, structural, and MEP plans
Understanding of sprinkler system layouts and fire protection principles
Familiarity with NFPA codes and standards
Experience with BIM coordination and clash detection
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently
Good written and spoken English
