Title Clearance Officer
About the Role
We are seeking a knowledgeable and solutions-oriented Title Clearance Officer to bring title files to clear-to-close status by resolving title defects and satisfying outstanding title requirements.
This role requires someone who can work independently and confidently navigate complex title issues.
Key Responsibilities
Review title reports and title requirements
Clear title objections, judgments, liens, bankruptcies, estate matters, open permits, violations, and other title defects
Work directly with attorneys, underwriters, municipalities, lenders, and abstract companies
Obtain satisfactions, releases, affidavits, payoff letters, and other curative documents
Monitor progress and follow up to ensure timely resolution of title issues
Bring files to clear-to-close status
Maintain detailed notes and organized records of curative efforts
Qualifications
Prior title clearance, title curative, or advanced title processing experience strongly preferred
Strong understanding of title insurance and real estate transactions
Knowledge of New York and/or New Jersey title requirements
Ability to independently resolve complex title matters
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Residential and/or commercial title experience preferred
