Position Summary

We are seeking a professional, compassionate, and detail-oriented Appointment Scheduler / Patient Care Specialist to join our radiology team. This role is responsible for scheduling patient appointments, verifying patient information, coordinating imaging procedures, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring a smooth patient experience from scheduling through follow-up.

Key Responsibilities

• Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients with scheduling appointments.
• Coordinate MRI, CT, X-ray, Ultrasound, Mammography, and other imaging appointments.
• Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and physician orders.
• Obtain necessary authorizations and referrals when required.
• Explain exam preparation instructions to patients.
• Reschedule appointments as needed and manage cancellations efficiently.
• Greet patients and provide exceptional customer service.
• Address patient concerns professionally and escalate issues when appropriate.
• Maintain accurate patient records in the scheduling and electronic medical record systems.
• Coordinate with radiologists, technologists, referring physicians, and insurance companies.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and patient privacy regulations.
• Assist with administrative and front-desk duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in medical scheduling, patient services, healthcare administration, or customer service preferred.
• Experience in radiology or diagnostic imaging is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
