MSP IT Support & Systems Specialist

We are seeking a skilled MSP IT Support & Systems Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, supporting, and maintaining our IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, software, and end-user devices. This role requires a strong background in troubleshooting, system administration, and networking, along with the ability to provide responsive technical support to staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day IT support for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers, including Active Directory, Group Policy, RAID setups, and shared folders with complex NTFS permissions.
- Build, deploy, and manage physical and virtual servers (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).
- Set up and configure routers, switches, VLANs, wireless access points, and perform site surveys.
- Administer email systems (Microsoft Outlook, PST files, GSuite sync) and troubleshoot related issues.
- Deploy and manage security tools, including next-gen antivirus and web content filtering solutions.
- Install and configure network printers, drivers, and related peripherals (routers, firewalls, printers, scanners).
- Use monitoring and remote management tools (SolarWinds RMM or similar) to ensure system performance and uptime.
- Perform backup and disaster recovery processes using industry-standard tools.
- Write and maintain scripts (PowerShell or other languages) to automate system tasks.
- Provide documentation, training, and technical guidance to staff.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in IT support, systems administration, or a similar technical role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
- Familiarity with VMware ESXi, VMware Workstation, and/or Microsoft Hyper-V.
- Experience setting up and managing routers, firewalls (preferably SonicWall), VLANs, and managed switches.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a structured approach.
- Familiarity with SolarWinds RMM, antivirus solutions, and backup software.
- Working knowledge of scripting (PowerShell or equivalent) is a plus.
- Relevant IT certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco, VMware, etc.) are preferred.
